Knitting Snowman Knitting Pattern

This friendly snowman is in the middle of knitting himself a scarf! He’s already wearing a textured cardigan and hat he made. Instructions for making mini ball of Red Heart Lisa are included.

RED HEART® Lisa: 2 balls 208 White A, 1 ball each of 5680 Lava Mouline B, 5669 Cherry C, 5671 Anthrocite Melange D, 205 Pumpkin E

Knitting Needles: 3.5mm [US 4] double pointed needles or circular needles (for snowman), 4mm [US 6] double pointed needles or circular needle (for scarf and hat only)

Stitch marker, four 13mm [½”] buttons (for sweater front), two 19mm [¾”] black faceted sew on rounds (for eyes), sewing needle and black sewing thread, yarn needle
For stuffing: Polyester stuffing, knee high stocking, pellet stuffing (or other weighted stuffing)
For snowman to hold: Two bamboo skewers, two wooden beads to fit on end of skewers, white craft glue
For mini skein: Copy of mini Red Heart label, scissors and cellophane tape


Snowman measures about 25.5 cm [10”] tall, not including pompom hat.


TENSION/GAUGE: 24 sts = 10 cm [4”]; 36 rounds = 10 cm [4”] in Stockinette stitch (knit every round) using smaller needles. CHECK YOUR TENSION/ GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the tension/gauge.
